Expedition Day Camp is a week of outdoor adventure-based education, leadership training, friendship-making, mixed with good old-fashion fun! It’s more than just a day camp. It’s skills and memories that will last a lifetime. This Camp is perfect for your teen! They will spend two days at Watson Lake Park in Prescott, AZ, where they will; rock-climb, participate in various leadership and team-building activities, and kayak. The next three days they will load up in a van and head to various places in Arizona such as: Northern Arizona where they will explore volcanic cinder cones and crawl through lava tubes, South to the Sonoran Desert where they will go on an epic hike to petroglyphs and waterfalls, and Flagstaff where they will be zipping along on the challenge course before wrapping the day up with an epic pizza party! Now that is a Spring Break to remember!

Expedition Day Camp Information
Camp is open 7:45 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Activities start at 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily, with drop-off from 7:45 AM – 8:55 AM and pick-up from 4: 00PM-5: 30 PM.
We meet each morning at a central location of Watson Lake Park then head out for the day’s adventure.
We are based out of Watson Lake Park, Prescott, Arizona and will travel by van Wednesday - Friday to different locations.
Youth ages 11 to 14 have the opportunity to:
Monday: Get to know the other campers while participating in fun, challenging team building activities before grabbing a paddle and learning how to navigate the amazing rock formations of Watson Lake in a kayak.
Tuesday: Take to the Dells and learn to rock-climb with Professional Rock-climbing instructors.
Wednesday: Load up in the van for our first field trip to the volcanoes of Northern Arizona where we will explore volcanic cinder cones that rise 1,000 feet above the surrounding landscape and crawl through hidden lava tubes deep under the earth's surface.
Thursday: Jump in the van for another great day of adventure. Today we will be heading South to the Sonoran Desert for an epic hike where we will hunt for petroglyphs and have a chance to take a dip in a waterfall (weather permitting).
Friday: Hop in the van for our last field trip. We will head up to Flagstaff. Our destination will be AZ Extreme for a fun-filled day of Zip-Lines and high-flying adventure, followed by a pizza party to celebrate our time together.

Day Camp Cost:
Our Adventure Travel Day Camp is $280.00 a week for our Fall and Spring Break Sessions, this tuition includes professional instruction, permits, group gear, specialized activities, morning and afternoon snack, Backcountry Unlimited T-shirt and water bottle.
Day Camp FAQ’S
Kayaking days, campers should be prepared to spend the day on the water. Life jackets will be provided, and a Lifeguard certified staff member will always be with participants.
Climb day, kids need to wear clothes that are comfortable, able to stretch (no jeans) and provide a good range of motion and durable footwear.
Day Camp Gear List
Gym Shoes, Day pack, Water, Lunch, Prescription Medications, Sunhat, Sunglasses, Swimsuit or Swim shorts, Swim shirt (long sleeve), Water Shoes, Medium size towel. Please apply sunscreen in the morning, we will reapply throughout the day.
Day Camp Rendezvous Spot
Our meeting place is Watson Lake Park, located north of downtown Prescott on highway 89. There is plenty of parking, but it can be congested at times, so please be courteous of other park users and area residents.
Day Camp Registration and Payment Policy
Please register by clicking the 'Book Now' button above and follow the prompts on the registration page or call to check on availability and/or make reservations. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Camp fee is $280.00/week per participant for Fall and Spring Break Sessions. Deposit per child of $100/week. Registration forms and deposit is required at the time of confirmed reservation. Payment of deposit and/or submitting registration forms and/or attending camp implies agreement to pay the full amount of session(s). You are expected to pay the full amount if you cancel with less than 30 days’ notice, or do not attend, for any reason. Notice of change or cancellation must be received in writing via email confirmed by Backcountry Unlimited Director. Balance is due the Monday before your session starts, without which your child(ren) may not be allowed to attend. If not checked-in by Monday morning 9 am, your spot(s) may be forfeited, without refund. Refunds provided subject to Backcountry Unlimited’s discretion. You are responsible for registering for the correct date(s) on registration forms. We accept all major credit cards and can make special arrangements for checks/cash. Backcountry Unlimited is an equal opportunity service provider.
